It's already been 12 years since I started photographing Fukushima.
12 years means that I have completed one cycle of the zodiac, but from my point of view as a photographer, I feel that 12 years have passed by in the blink of an eye.
I shoot at least 100 rolls of film a year in my darkroom/storage room, so I think there are over 1,000 rolls of film.
Every time I take out a stack of film from my stash and look at it, I think about the weight of 12 years as an object.
What will the next 12 years be like?

福島を撮影し始めて、早いもので12年が経ってしまった。
12年と言えば干支一回りしたということになるのだけど、撮影している身から言えばあっという間の12年だったように思う。
暗室兼物置とかした部屋にある撮影済みフィルムも年100本以上は撮影しているので、1000本以上になると思う。
しまってあるフィルムの束を取り出して見るたびに、物体としての重量感から12年の重さを考えてみたりする。
これからの12年はどんな12年になるだろうか。
